Job Summary
Plan and coordinate age-appropriate activities and events while supervising participants to ensure their guidance and safety. Interact positively with children, parents, and staff, following emergency procedures and YMCA policies to uphold the organization's mission. Perform general housekeeping duties, manage daily schedules and curricula, and respond swiftly to critical incidents or physical emergencies. Open and close the Child Watch Center on time, attending required staff meetings and trainings. Maintain a professional demeanor and wear staff identification during all working hours.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience working and caring for children
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Must have a warm and friendly personality and the sensitivity to meet the needs of a diverse population
- Possess a genuine interest in people and the ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with staff, volunteers, members, and the general public
- Excellent customer service experience and organization skills
- Strong self-starter and initiator with a passion for service and relationship building
- CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child/Infant, obtained within 30 days of hire and must be from one of the following certifying organizations: American Red Cross, American Heart Association, American Safety & Health Institute
