Job Summary
Child Watch Associate (Part Time) at YMCA location. Responsible for providing a safe, secure and fun environment to enhance the quality, growth and retention of participants in the Child Watch program. Assists with activities and events, nurtures children through purposeful interaction to build belonging, supervises children and activities including ADA accommodations, maintains program site and equipment, communicates with parents, and follows procedures and standards under supervision. Must be at least 16 years old and hold Infant/Child CPR certification; duties include diaper changes and ensuring safety of all children.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Current Infant/Child CPR certification required
- Knowledge and experience with the care and feeding of infants, toddlers and young children
- Ability and willingness to change diapers while using techniques to avoid the risk of exposure to blood or other bodily fluids
- Demonstrate maturity and strong interpersonal skills with the ability and willingness to approach participants in a non-threatening manner to manage behavior
- Have a positive attitude and desire to achieve the mission of the Upper Palmetto YMCA
- Carrying, sitting, seeing, hearing, speaking, running, crouching, lifting (25 Lbs.), and walking
