Job Summary
Child Watch Associate at YMCA responsible for providing a safe, nurturing environment for children ages 6 weeks to 8 years. Responsibilities include engaging children in age-appropriate activities, greeting families, maintaining safety and cleanliness, assisting with check-in/check-out procedures, diapering and basic infant care, and upholding program safety protocols. Evening availability Monday–Thursday 4:30pm–7:30pm with rotating weekends 9am–12pm; shifts may vary. Requires strong communication with parents and coworkers, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a caring, patient approach. Minimum age 16; high school diploma or equivalent preferred; previous childcare or supervision experience encouraged.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age 16; high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous childcare, babysitting, or group supervision experience preferred
- Ability to engage with children across various ages and developmental stages
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and flexible in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of child safety, age-appropriate play, and positive behavior management practices
