Job Summary
Provide individual and family therapy to children ages 0-12 whose mothers are enrolled in the Visiting and Family Assistance Program on Rikers Island. Conduct intake interviews, screenings, assessments, goal setting, progress monitoring, advocacy, and referrals. Deliver trauma-informed, evidence-based interventions including crisis stabilization and collaborate with outside providers for complex cases. Participate in reflective supervision, complete charting documentation such as court reports, and consistently follow up with clients to promote engagement. Work part-time (20 hours/week) with flexible evening and weekend availability.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, licensed by the state of New York
- Experience in facilitating dyadic and/or child-parent psychotherapy
- Two to three years experience working with high-risk populations who have experienced complex trauma
- Excellent writing skills, and ability to submit documentation on a set timeline
- Must be able to work independently and with a team
- Familiar with evidence-based treatment models such as CBT, MI, DBT, and TF-CBT
- Must be able to deliver services in a culturally sensitive manner
- Computer and technical skills, specifically Microsoft Office Programs and Electronic Health Records
- Flexibility to work evenings and/or occasional weekends
- Ability to walk up and down the stairs
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with criminal justice-involved populations preferred
