Job Summary
Description: The Commission shall study and make recommendations on the child support guidelines to the Mayor. The Commission shall consist of a chairperson and 8 members who are District of Columbia residents, with appointments by the Mayor and Council, including representation from the Bar and expert in family law and child support, and representation from the Child Support Enforcement Division. The Chief Judge may appoint 2 members. The Council shall designate one Councilmember to serve on the Commission and appoint 2 additional members, including a Bar-expert in family law and child support.
Required Qualifications
- District of Columbia residents
- Chairperson and 8 members; Mayor appoints chairperson and 2 members (one of whom is a Bar member and an expert in family law and child support)
- Mayor appoints one member to represent the Child Support Enforcement Division (CSED)
- Council shall designate one Councilmember to serve on the Commission and appoint 2 additional members (one of whom is a Bar member and expert in family law and child support)
- Chief Judge of the Superior Court may appoint 2 members
- The District of Columbia Bar participation as needed for qualification
