Job Summary
Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in Western Australia. Deliver clinical assessment and psychiatric treatment to children, adolescents, and youth; provide leadership to multidisciplinary teams; oversee implementation of Infant, Child, and Adolescent Taskforce recommendations; chair clinical review processes and ensure adherence to Mental Health Act and related legislation; advocate for mental health needs in planning forums and liaise with stakeholders; mentor and support mental health staff in a shared care model; participate in quality improvement and professional development initiatives. Location is a rural region in Western Australia within a 1.5-hour drive from Perth; flexible arrangements include Permanent Full-Time, Fixed Term Full-Time, and Part-Time or Sessional options.
Required Qualifications
- Fellowship with the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) or Fellowship of the College of Anaesthesiologists of Ireland (or as previously named, the College of Anaesthetists of Ireland) (FCAI), together with a CSCST or Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCA), with Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent
- Registration with the Medical Board of Australia
- Experience in child and adolescent mental health
- Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
- Commitment to quality improvement and evidence-based care
