Job Summary
Supervise visits between children and parents, sit with children in hotel and hospital placements, and transport clients for appointments. Make referrals to connect families with needed services and enter documentation into the Katahdin information system. Maintain legal records and serve court paperwork while traveling within the local district office. This seasonal position in Biddeford requires a valid Class C license and includes occasional mandatory overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Current State of Maine employee
- Valid Class C Maine Motor Vehicle Operator's License
- Training, education, or experience in office and client support work
- Competency in applying a proficient knowledge of the principles and practices in assisting management with policies and procedures
- Ability to use independent judgment, initiative, and decision-making on complex administrative and direct service activities
- Significant travel within areas served by the local district office
- Occasional mandatory overtime
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience working directly with children and families in a social services setting
- Skilled in the use of standard work-place applications (MS Word, EXCEL, Outlook, etc.)
- Strong interpersonal skills
