Job Summary
Supervises and directs child protective investigators and support staff; develops performance standards; provides coaching and evaluation; plans workloads and deadlines; ensures compliance with federal/state rules; collaborates with agencies and resources; oversees training and career development; reviews casework and safety plans; uses information systems for case management and reporting; manages investigations to protect children and families; must be physically capable for field duties and driving responsibilities; night, weekend, and holiday work required; essential position.
Required Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent AND four years of law enforcement experience or active military service (honorably discharged or status that current service reflects serving honorably); AND minimum 2 years of Child Welfare Experience, preferred in Child Protective Investigations AND current/Active Child Welfare Certification credentials from the Florida Certification Board AND valid Driver License; AND must possess operational private vehicle for use in daily work activities with Department-provided Vehicle Insurance Allowance
- OR AA Degree or 60+ credit hours from an accredited college or university AND two years of professional work experience OR two years of law enforcement experience or active military service AND minimum 2 years of Child Welfare Experience, preferred in Child Protective Investigations AND current/Active Child Welfare Certification credentials from the Florida Certification Board AND valid Driver License; AND must possess operational private vehicle for use in daily work activities with Department-provided Vehicle Insurance Allowance
- OR a bachelor’s degree (degree conferred at application) in social work or related field preferred AND minimum 2 years of Child Welfare Experience, preferred in Child Protective Investigations AND current/Active Child Welfare Certification credentials from the Florida Certification Board AND valid Driver License; AND must possess operational private vehicle for use in daily work activities with Department-provided Vehicle Insurance Allowance
