Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School reside in on-campus student homes to supervise and support groups of 8–13 students, providing care, guidance, supervision, and activities, including transportation, daily routines, devotions, and budgeting. The role begins with a nine-on / three-off schedule across multiple homes, then transitions to a placed houseparent arrangement with the same student group in a dedicated home. Our two-person couple model requires both spouses to apply individually and meet age and lifestyle requirements; compensation includes housing, meals on duty, benefits, and relocation support. The position emphasizes youth development, safety, mentorship, and community-building within a structured, family-like living environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse employment applications to be completed individually
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Two-person, married couple eligibility for the role
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
Additional Requirements
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- No explicit alcohol consumption while on duty
- Smoke-free and weapon-free campus
