Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person role for married couples) reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School to provide care, supervision, and mentorship for groups of 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, guiding routines, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions, and supporting budgeting and household reporting. After an initial nine-on/three-off schedule, couples transition to a placed houseparent role living with the same student group. Benefits include salary per person ($44,768) with total compensation for the couple around $168,000, comprehensive insurance, retirement options, relocation assistance, paid training, and PTO. Requires high school diploma or GED, two-year married status for both spouses, age 27+, drivers license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and a commitment to a smoke- and weapon-free campus with no alcohol on duty. Pro-social youth development experience preferred; both spouses must complete individual employment applications.
Required Qualifications

- Two spouses must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Committment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role-model expectations
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
