Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School are a two-person, married couple living in an on-campus student home to provide care, supervision, mentorship, and support for 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning to a placed houseparent role after an initial nine-on/three-off schedule. Benefits include salary per person, comprehensive medical/dental/vision coverage, retirement savings, relocation assistance, paid training, and housing/ meals while on duty. Both spouses must complete individual applications for consideration.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
