Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School work as a two-person couple in on-campus student homes, supervising and mentoring 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, medicine administration, driving students to activities, planning/developing development and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from initial nine-on/three-off duties to a placed houseparent role with the same student group. The position requires a legally married couple, both spouses aged 27 or older, with high school diploma or GED, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Relocation assistance and paid training are provided; benefits include medical/dental/vision, life insurance, retirement savings, paid time off, and on-campus housing/meals while on duty.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Two-person role for legally married couples
- Couples must be legally married for at least two years
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- No more than three dependent children in the home
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading daily devotions and accompanying to Chapel
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
