Job Summary
Two-person, full-time Flex Houseparents (married couples) reside on the Milton Hershey School campus in on-site student homes, providing daily supervision, mentorship, and care for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising routines and student schedules, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with a nine-days-on, three-days-off cycle and transitions to a placed houseparent role living with the same group of students. Benefits include a per-person salary of $44,768 (approximately $168,000 total per couple when including housing, meals, and other benefits), comprehensive health coverage, retirement options, paid time off, and relocation assistance with paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse requirement: couples married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism
- Ability to live and work in on-campus student homes
- Two-person role for couples
- Full-time schedule with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off
