Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparents reside on Milton Hershey School’s campus to supervise and guide a group of approximately 8–13 students in a family-like home. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications and ensuring wellness, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and supporting multiple student homes on a rotating nine-on/three-off schedule before transitioning to a Placed Houseparent role with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person ($44,768) with total couple compensation around $168,000, comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, paid training, and paid time off. Qualifications include experience with youth, two-year married-relationship for the role, age 27+, high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, comfort leading devotions and Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited), and a smoke-free/weapon-free campus policy. For consideration, both spouses must complete individual employment applications.
Required Qualifications
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Ability to reside on campus as part of the on-site housing arrangement
