Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person, legally married couple) reside on Milton Hershey School campus in Hershey, PA, and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students in a student home. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent role living and working with the same students. Benefits include a salary of $44,768 per person (approx. $168,000 total per couple with housing and meals), comprehensive health benefits, retirement options, paid training, relocation assistance, and paid time off. Requires a high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, experience with youth, and strict adherence to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus with no alcohol on duty. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
