Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents reside in on-campus student homes in Hershey, PA, and provide care, supervision, and guidance for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. The role begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual placement as a Placed Houseparent living and working with the same group of students. Benefits include salary per person around $44,768 plus comprehensive benefits and relocation assistance.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
