Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents reside in on-campus student homes, provide daily supervision and mentorship to a group of 8–13 students, manage household routines and student schedules, administer medications, drive students to activities, plan and engage in developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, oversee budgeting and household reporting, initially supporting various student homes on a nine-days-on/three-days-off cycle before transitioning to a placed houseparent role living with the same group of students.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- This is a two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Relocation assistance provided
- Past experience with youth preferred
