Job Summary
Two-person on-campus houseparent role for Milton Hershey School. Couples reside in student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for groups of roughly 8–13 students, including daily supervision, scheduling, medication administration, transportation to activities, planning developmental/recreational activities, leading daily devotions, and budgeting/household reporting. The position begins with a nine-on, three-off schedule and transitions to a placed houseparent role living with the same group of students. Requires a high school diploma or GED, valid U.S. driver’s license with the ability to drive student buses, and a legally married status with both spouses aged 27 or older. Experience with youth is preferred; relocation assistance and training are provided.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse requirement (must apply individually)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Ability to live on-campus in on-campus student homes
- Willingness to adhere to smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- Two-person marital requirement (legally married for at least two years)
