Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person married couple) reside on campus at Milton Hershey School to provide care, supervision, and mentorship for a group of 8–13 students. Responsibilities include supervising daily routines, administering medications, transporting students to activities, planning development and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and reporting. The role starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off and may transition into a placed houseparent living situation with the same student group. Benefits include salary of $44,768 per person (approx. $168,000 total per couple with housing and meals), comprehensive insurance, retirement options, paid time off, and relocation assistance plus paid training.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse married pair eligible and willing to apply as a two-person team
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role models for students
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol while on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Desire to lead students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel
- Planned transition to placed houseparent after initial period
- Willingness to reside on campus and work a schedule with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off
