Job Summary
Two-person Full-time Flex Houseparents (married couple) reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School to supervise 8–13 students, provide care, mentorship, and supervision, manage household routines, administer medications, drive students to activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, oversee budgeting and reporting, and transition to a placed houseparent role. The role requires a legally married couple aged 27+, high school diploma or GED, valid U.S. driver’s license with the ability to become certified to drive student vans, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The position includes relocation assistance and paid training; benefits are provided. The schedule initially features nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with placement into a stable student-home assignment over time.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
- Two-spouse employment applications completed independently
- Ability to drive students to activities and manage student schedules
- Experience with budgeting and household reporting
- On-campus housing and caregiving responsibilities
- Translation of duties into supervisory roles for 8–13 students
- Flex Houseparents with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off
