Job Summary
Flex Houseparents (two-person, married-couple role) live on-campus at Milton Hershey School in a student home, supervising and mentoring a group of 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, mentoring, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Chapel attendance, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and maintaining a family-like environment. The nine-days-on, three-days-off cycle begins, with eventual transition to a Placed Houseparent living and working with the same group of students. Relocation assistance and comprehensive benefits are provided, including medical/dental/vision, retirement savings, and paid training.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED
