Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents at Milton Hershey School: a two-person married couple reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, supervision, mentorship, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision, medication administration, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from nine days on/three days off to a Placed Houseparent role living with the same student group. Benefits include salary of $44,768 per person (approximately $168,000 total per couple) plus comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, paid training, and other housing/meal/utilities inclusions. For consideration, both spouses must complete individual employment applications. Location: on-campus at Milton Hershey School, Hershey, PA. Requirements: experience with youth, legally married for at least two years, both spouses aged 27+, high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license with ability to drive student vans, ability to lift 50 lbs, adherence to campus conduct (no alcohol, smoke-free, weapon-free), Judeo-Christian chapel participation without proselytizing, and commitment to the school community.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
