Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents on Milton Hershey School’s on-campus living program provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for approximately 8–13 students in a family-like home setting. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from a nine-on/three-off schedule to a Placed Houseparent assignment with the same group of students. Benefits include a per-person salary of $44,768 (approximately $168,000 total per couple when including housing and other benefits), relocation assistance, paid training, comprehensive medical benefits, retirement savings options, PTO, and other generous perks.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
