Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents live on campus at Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, as a two-person married couple caring for a group of ~8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, medication administration, transporting students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, budgeting and household reporting, and transitioning from nine consecutive days on/off to a placed houseparent arrangement with the same student group. Benefits include salary of $44,768 per person (approximately $168,000 total per couple) plus comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, and paid training. Candidates must be legally married for at least two years, both spouses aged 27+, hold a high school diploma or GED, have a valid U.S. driver’s license, and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. The role requires on-campus residence in Hershey, PA with a two-person team structure.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth
- Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited)
