Job Summary
Married couple Full-time Flex Houseparents needed at Milton Hershey School to reside in on-campus student homes and provide care, guidance, supervision, and developmentally-focused activities for a group of approximately 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning and engaging in developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, overseeing budgeting and household reporting, and following a nine-days-on, three-days-off schedule with potential progression to a placed houseparent role living with the same group of students. Benefits include a per-person salary of $44,768 (approximately $168,000 total per couple when including housing and benefits), comprehensive medical/dental/vision, retirement options, relocation assistance, paid training, and designated paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two-spouse commitment to apply (both spouses must complete individual employment applications)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
- Ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Comfort leading students in daily devotions and accompanying them to Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services
Additional Requirements
- Must be legally married for at least two years
- Both spouses age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed
