Job Summary
Prepare quality food according to tested recipes and serve meals while maintaining portion control and safety standards. Operate kitchen equipment including slicers, mixers, and fryers while adhering to sanitation protocols and correcting unsafe conditions promptly. Store supplies safely, record cashier functions and food requisitions, and maintain daily preparation records. Work inside a commercial kitchen environment involving prolonged standing, moderate lifting up to 44 pounds, and exposure to biological and chemical hazards. Follow district safety protocols, complete annual continuing education, and promote teamwork with fellow staff members.
Required Qualifications
- Texas Food Handlers Certificate
- Ability to understand written and verbal food preparation and safety instructions
- Working knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production procedures
- Ability to operate large and small kitchen equipment and tools
- Ability to perform basic math
- Ability to speak, read, and write English at an eight-grade level
