Job Summary
Prepare and serve appropriate quantities of food to meet menu requirements while maintaining high standards of quality in food production, sanitation, and safety practices. Operate kitchen equipment according to prescribed safety standards, store and handle food items safely, and keep storage areas clean and organized. Handle cashier functions, record food requisitions, and maintain daily food preparation records. Correct unsafe conditions and promptly report non-compliant areas to the supervisor. Follow district safety protocols, emergency procedures, and annual continuing education requirements. Work under moderate supervision with frequent interruptions and emotional control demands.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to understand written and verbal food preparation and safety instructions
- Working knowledge of kitchen equipment and food production procedures
- Ability to operate large and small kitchen equipment and tools
- Ability to perform basic math
- Willingness to work at any school within CISD and frequently change school assignments
- Must be present regularly in person
- Moderate lifting and carrying (up to 40 pounds)
