Job Summary
Substitute at any of the eight Southside ISD school cafeterias during the absence of the Production Specialist under the supervision of the Cafeteria Manager. Prepare or assist with menu items using standardized recipes, set up service lines, and serve customers while cashing transactions without a register. Assist the manager in maintaining Food Production Records, cleaning up by washing pots and pans, sweeping, mopping, and carrying out trash. Demonstrate sound safety and sanitation practices using commercial kitchen equipment including mixers, ovens, and fryers. Maintain a positive attitude, follow district policies, and perform any additional duties assigned by the manager. High school diploma required; training provided on the job.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to work in a commercial kitchen environment
- Must be able to follow standardized recipes
- Must be able to set up service lines
- Must be able to serve customers
- Must be able to cash transactions without a cash register
- Must be able to maintain precise food production records
- Must be able to clean up kitchen equipment
- Must be able to wash pots and pans
- Must be able to sweep and mop
- Must be able to carry out trash
- Must be able to put stock away
- Must demonstrate sound safety and sanitation practices
- Must follow department guidelines for personal hygiene and dress code
- Must be willing to perform any additional duties as assigned by the manager
- Must be available to substitute at any one of the eight school cafeterias in Southside ISD
- Must be available during the absence of the Production Specialist
- Must work under the supervision of the Cafeteria Manager or designated representative
- Must be able to work nonexempt hours
- Must be able to work within the Child Nutrition Department
