Job Summary
Set up for and serve meals, and clean up serving and kitchen areas. Responsibilities include assisting in preparation of food items, setting up serving carts and warming ovens, filling condiment containers and serving meals to students and staff, presenting food attractively, assisting students with meals, cleaning serving and meal areas, and ensuring proper food handling procedures. May assist in ordering food/supplies, perform cashier duties, and participate in district committees; requires knowledge of food handling, sanitation, offer- vs.-serve meal patterns, and maintaining effective working relationships with students and staff. Includes physical tasks such as standing for long periods and handling hot equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Education, training, skills, and experience necessary to carry out the assignment, with experience serving food desirable; experience working with school age children desirable.
- Washington state food handler's permit
- Must complete training in and adhere to district infection control plan
- fingerprinting and background check to determine that there have been no convictions involving physical molestation, abuse, injury or neglect of a minor
