CHILD NUTRITION ASSISTANT MANAGER in a school cafeteria. Assists the manager with daily operations and substitutes for the manager in their absence. Responsible for knowledge of food preparation for meals served in school cafeterias and ensuring sanitation and safety standards. Inspects cafeteria areas, checks production schedules, ensures assistants know their assignments, observes program performance, and reports needed changes to the manager. Manages food preparation, verifies deliveries for quantity and quality, stores supplies appropriately, assists with inventories and reporting, and directs day-to-day activities when the manager is absent. Requires strong knowledge of food preparation, sanitation standards, coordination of activities in preparation and service, accurate record-keeping, ability to read guidelines and explain them to others, and the ability to maintain positive working relationships. Performs other duties as assigned by the manager and follows the Child Nutrition Employees Duties, Responsibilities and Dress Code.
