Job Summary
Inspect cafeteria areas on a continuing basis, check production schedules, and ensure all assistants know their assignments. Observe the total program and staff performance, noting needed changes in work activities and reporting them to the manager. Prepare food as needed, assist in checking deliveries for quantity and quality accuracy, and store supplies in appropriate areas. Direct day-to-day activity in the absence of the manager, assist in conducting inventories, and prepare reports by gathering needed information. Maintain accurate records, coordinate preparation and servicing processes, and establish positive working relationships while following outlined duties and dress codes.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Considerable experience in quantity food preparation
- Sufficient education: reading and math to include math fractions and operating a calculator
- Must hold or obtain certification from the National Restaurant Association in food safety
- Considerable knowledge of food preparation and standards of sanitation and safety
- Skill in the use of food preparation equipment
- Ability to coordinate various activities in the preparation and servicing processes
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to read, comprehend guidelines and explain these to others
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships
