Job Summary
Child Life Specialist for Urology at Boston Children’s Hospital in Boston, MA. Participate in therapeutic activities to meet pediatric patients' psychosocial and developmental needs and help them adjust to health care experiences in the ICU. Serve as a member of a multidisciplinary team, delegate tasks to volunteers, and participate in clinical training of student interns. 40 hours per week. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development/Child Life or related field with a child life concentration, 600-hour internship, and certification within 1 year of hire; licensure/certification as required. Strong writing and communication skills, including conflict resolution, to effectively work as a team member. Base pay details are shared in the compensation package; benefits include health, dental, vision, time off, retirement plans, and professional-reimbursement programs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Child Life, or a closely related field with a concentration in child life
- 600-hour Child Life internship under the supervision of a certified child life specialist
- Certification in Child Life Specialist required within 1 year of hire for all new hires
