Job Summary
Conduct therapeutic activities and programs to meet patients' psychosocial and developmental needs, facilitating adjustment to health care experiences in the intensive care unit. Serve as a member of the multidisciplinary team, delegate work assignments to volunteers, and participate in the clinical training of student interns. This temporary maternity leave coverage role at the Autism Center requires 30 hours per week from July 2026 through December 2026. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Child Development or Child Life with a 600-hour internship, and certification must be obtained within one year of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Child Life, or a closely related field with a concentration in child life
- 600-hour Child Life internship under the supervision of a certified child life specialist
- General skills to resolve problems requiring the use of child development theory, professional child life principles, and experienced‐based knowledge
- Well-developed writing skills
- Excellent communication skills including conflict resolution
- Certification in Child Life Specialist within 1 year of hire
