Job Summary
Temporary maternity leave coverage for a Child Life Specialist role at an Autism Center. Responsibilities include participating in therapeutic activities to meet patients' psychosocial and developmental needs, facilitating adjustment to health care experiences in the ICU, serving as a member of a multidisciplinary team, delegating work to volunteers, and participating in clinical training of student interns. Requires a Bachelor's degree with a concentration in child life, a 600-hour internship, and certification within 1 year of hire. 30 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Child Life, or a closely related field with a concentration in child life
- 600-hour Child Life internship under supervision of a certified child life specialist
- Certification in Child Life Specialist required within 1 year of hire
- Well-developed writing skills and excellent communication skills including conflict resolution
- General skills to resolve problems using child development theory and professional child life principles
