Job Summary
Conduct therapeutic activities and programs to meet patients' psychosocial and developmental needs, facilitating adjustment to health care experiences in the intensive care unit. Serve as a member of the multidisciplinary team, delegate work assignments to volunteers, and participate in clinical training of student interns. Provide coverage for maternity leave from July 2026 through December 2026 on a 30-hour weekly schedule. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Child Development or Child Life with a 600-hour internship, and certification within one year of hire. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Child Life, or a closely related field with a concentration in child life
- 600-hour Child Life internship under the supervision of a certified child life specialist
- General skills to resolve problems requiring the use of child development theory, professional child life principles, and experienced‐based knowledge
- Well-developed writing skills
- Excellent communication skills including conflict resolution
- Certification in Child Life Specialist within 1 year of hire
