Job Summary
Plans and implements evidence-based therapeutic, recreational, and diversion interventions to help pediatric patients and families cope with hospitalization and illness. Delivers family-centered care, develops programs to meet identified needs for assigned clinical populations, and collaborates with other healthcare professionals. Responsibilities include promoting high-quality care, supervising volunteers and interns, and delivering therapeutic play activities for individuals and groups. Requires a Bachelor's in a related field with ACLP coursework, completion of a Child Life Internship, and attaining CCLS within 1 year, plus BLS Healthcare Provider certification. Demonstrated ability to communicate with children and families, manage crises, and work with a multidisciplinary team.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Child Life, Child Development, Psychology, or related area with coursework for Clinical Child Life Certification
- Successful completion of Child Life Internship meeting ACLP requirements for Certification
- CCLS-Certified Child Life Specialist within 1 year
- BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
