Job Summary
Child Life Specialist (Radiology), Casual/PRN at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando, FL. Provides Child Life Therapy assessment and intervention to pediatric patients within department/hospital guidelines, demonstrates clinical competency in direct patient care, and completes 100% of basic Child Life competencies. Serves as a member of the healthcare team to address developmental, emotional, psychosocial, and individual needs; supports families; documents per policy; participates in meetings and interdisciplinary discussions; delivers family education about diagnoses, treatment, and hospital impact; employs stress-reduction techniques and medical play to help children cope with procedures and hospitalization; assists with assessment of therapeutic, developmental, and social/recreational needs and plans appropriate activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Child Life, Child Development or related field
- Minimum of 3 months experience
- Child Life Certification required within 6 months of hire
- American Heart Association BLS Certification required within 6 months of hire
