Job Summary
Conduct therapeutic activities and programs to meet patients' psychosocial and developmental needs while facilitating adjustment to health care experiences for patients from birth to young adults. Serve as a member of the multidisciplinary team, providing support for procedures, siblings, development, and bereavement during both short and long-term hospitalizations. Maintain unit resources by ordering and stocking areas, delegate work assignments to volunteers, and participate in clinical training of student interns. Maintain Child Life Certification within one year of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Child Life, or a closely related field with a concentration in child life
- 600-hour Child Life internship under the supervision of a certified child life specialist
- Well-developed writing skills
- Excellent communication skills including conflict resolution
- Child Life Certification required within 1 year of hire
