Job Summary
Conduct therapeutic activities and programs to support patients' psychosocial and developmental needs, facilitating adjustment to health care experiences from birth to young adults. Provide coping support for procedures, siblings, and bereavement while serving as a member of the multidisciplinary team. Maintain unit resources by ordering and stocking areas, delegate work to volunteers, and participate in clinical training of student interns. Work four 10.5-hour days with some weekend coverage in the MSICU. Requires Bachelor's degree in Child Development or Child Life with 600-hour internship, Child Life Certification within one year, and strong communication skills. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Child Life, or a closely related field with a concentration in child life
- 600-hour Child Life internship under the supervision of a certified child life specialist
- Well-developed writing skills
- Excellent communication skills including conflict resolution
- Child Life Certification required within 1 year of hire
