Child Life Specialist I at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital provides development, coordination, and implementation of therapeutic, educational, and recreational Child Life programming for patients, based on normal development and the impact of illness, injury, disability, and hospitalization. Responsible for assessing, developing, and implementing individualized treatment plans; facilitating play interventions to promote self-healing and coping; supporting patients and families to meet emotional needs; providing procedural support; and collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote patient- and family-centered care. Under direct supervision, actively manages the psychosocial experience of patients and families during the medical experience, modeling MLH values. The role may involve rotating shifts and guiding Child Life interns and volunteers.
