Job Summary
As a Child Life Specialist, you will plan, implement, and evaluate individual and group child life services to support the developmental needs of pediatric patients at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital. You will provide diversional and therapeutic play activities, working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary health care team to ensure an integrated approach. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, completion of a 600-hour Child Life Internship, and certification as a Child Life Specialist within one year. Basic Life Support certification is also required within 90 days.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in child life, child development, child psychology, early childhood education, recreational therapy or related degree
- Completion of a 600-hour Child Life Internship
- Certification as Child Life Specialist (CCLS) - CLCC required within 1 Year
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days
