Child Life Specialist (30 hours)

Job Summary
Conduct therapeutic activities and programs to meet patients' psychosocial and developmental needs, facilitating adjustment to health care experiences for patients from birth to young adults. Serve as a member of the multidisciplinary team, providing coping support for short and long-term hospitalizations while managing resources through ordering and stocking unit areas. Support procedures, siblings, development, and bereavement needs, and delegate work assignments to volunteers while participating in clinical training of student interns. Maintain Child Life Certification within one year of hire. Work 30 hours across Primary Care and Cardiac in-patient units.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Child Life, or a closely related field with a concentration in child life
- 600-hour Child Life internship under the supervision of a certified child life specialist
- Well-developed writing skills
- Excellent communication skills including conflict resolution
- Child Life Certification required within 1 year of hire
