Child Life Specialist (30 hours)

Job Summary
Conduct therapeutic activities and programs to meet patients' psychosocial and developmental needs, facilitating adjustment to health care experiences for patients from birth to young adults. Serve as a member of the multidisciplinary team by providing coping support for patients with both short and long-term hospitalizations, addressing procedures, siblings, development, and bereavement. Maintain unit resources through ordering and stocking areas while delegating work assignments to volunteers and participating in clinical training of student interns. Work a 30-hour schedule split between two 10-hour days in CHPCC Primary Care and one 10-hour day in Cardiac in-patient.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Child Life, or a closely related field with a concentration in child life
- 600-hour Child Life internship under the supervision of a certified child life specialist
- Well-developed writing skills
- Excellent communication skills including conflict resolution
- Child Life Certification required within 1 year of hire
