Job Summary
Child Life Specialist responsible for addressing the developmental, psychosocial, and educational needs of pediatric patients and their families. Implements therapeutic medical preparation, directs age-appropriate therapeutic play to alleviate anxiety and provide normalcy, and supervises students/volunteers on the unit. Requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, completion of a therapeutic play program, and supervision/orientation of trainees. Preferred background includes Child Life, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Psychology; requires Bachelor’s Degree, CPR-BLS, and Child Life Professional Certification prior to hire. Role is full-time with day shift (800-1630), Monday–Friday in Pediatrics.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 1 year experience
- CPR-BLS
- Child Life Professional Certification - required prior to hire
- Child Life, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Psychology or related fields
