Child Guardianship Case Worker

Job Summary
Conduct outreach to families, develop individualized service plans, and assist with placements, home safety checks, and regular client visits. Prepare case reports and documentation for Tribal Court updates while arranging appointments and coordinating with Family Service Division and tribal/county programs. Create case plans for tribal members requiring care based on administrative or judicial findings. Maintain on-call availability approximately 18 weeks annually, working evenings, weekends, and irregular shifts with travel. Requires a high school diploma, three years of social services experience, and knowledge of the Indian Child Welfare Act.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Three years' social services and case management experience
- Ability to maintain on-call responsibilities: on-call approximately 18 weeks out of the year, as determined by staff schedules
- Evening and/or weekends, extended hours, irregular shifts and travel required
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all privileged information
- Ability to maintain emotional stability to cope with human suffering, emergencies, and other stresses
- Must have a valid, clean driver's license and be eligible for coverage under the Tribe's insurance
- Must successfully pass all applicable background checks and drug screens
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Education, Communication, and Psychology or related field
- Knowledge and understanding of the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA)
- Knowledge of reunification guidelines, processes and practices
