Job Summary
Care for infants and toddlers by promoting core values, ensuring safety, and using positive guidance methods while administering medications and documenting administration. Conduct developmental screenings for motor, language, social, cognitive, and emotional skills; plan, prepare, and deliver healthy activities and weekly lesson plans. Maintain proper hygiene, disinfect classrooms daily, and report unsafe areas or suspected neglect immediately. Build strong relationships with families by encouraging involvement, conducting home visits for enrolled children, and initiating support procedures for repeated absences. Ensure 85% daily attendance, file portfolio documentation, and track program information in family folders. Participate in pre-service training, start-of-year programming, health examinations, and required staff training while adhering to State and Federal regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Infant and Toddler CDA (Child Development Associate Credential)
- Six (6) months in a licensed childcare facility or in a public/private school or early childhood facility or has completed an early childhood degree program where practicum(s) were required
- CPR and First Aid Training
- Must be computer literate, and have proficient working knowledge of assigned databases, software, and systems
- Must have interpersonal and team building skills
- Must have dependable transportation daily, valid driver's license, a clean driving record, current auto liability insurance and be bondable by AVANCE, San Antonio, Inc.
- Must be able to lift 10-30 pounds
- Must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Desired Qualifications
- Associate in Early Childhood Education or Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education or related field with 18 hours in Early Childhood Education
- Spanish fluency
