Job Summary
Support students with special needs in a K-12 setting as a Child Development Support – Special Education paraprofessional. Responsibilities include assisting students during transitions, recess, meals, specialized classes, and community outings; implementing and tracking behavior plans; providing academic assistance through small-group instruction and testing support; assisting with health, hygiene, mobility, and special medical needs; maintaining organized learning spaces; collaborating with teachers, therapists, and school staff; participating in conferences and ongoing professional growth. Education requirements include 60+ college credit hours or an associate’s degree or higher, with a Missouri ParaPro/Paraprofessional Assessment passing score, completion of Missouri’s Substitute Training Program, and a valid Missouri Substitute Teaching Certificate.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with children
- Basic computer skills
- 60+ college credit hours OR Associate’s degree or higher
