Job Summary

Conduct functional vision and developmental assessments using observation, parent interviews, and formal tools like Oregon, DAYC-2, and HAWAII every 3, 6, or 9 months. Provide direct intervention in the child's natural environment at home, centers, or hospitals, coordinating weekly visits as authorized by the Regional Center or School District. Collaborate with families and education teams to develop Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs), assist with transitions to public school or preschool, and partner with community providers for Child Find services. Maintain comprehensive client case files, including intake forms, logs, and IFSPs, while advocating for client families. This home-based role covers catchment areas in East Los Angeles, San Gabriel Pomona, and South Central Regional Centers, supporting early intervention for children with visual impairments or multiple disabilities from birth through age five.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of a B.A., B.S. degree in Special Education, Child Development, Orientation and Mobility, Infant or Early Childhood, Social Work, or another related field from an accredited university
  • Valid CA Driver License with a minimum of three (3) years good driving history and must be approved by the agency's insurance carrier to drive agency vehicles
  • Must be available for weekend shifts
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Desired Qualifications

  • Bilingual (Spanish)
  • Familiarity with services available to infants, young children, and their families with vision loss and multiple disabilities in California
