Job Summary
Conduct weekly 90-minute home visits with families of children ages 0-5 to promote positive birth outcomes and healthy family relationships. Implement developmentally appropriate parent and child activities per the Early Head Start/Head Start curriculum while coordinating group socializations twice monthly. Maintain caseloads of approximately 12 families by completing required assessments, ensuring prenatal and well-child exams are current, and collaborating with community partners to access services. Document all interactions, enter data after every visit, and meet deadlines for paperwork and grant reports. Bilingual in Spanish and English, you will support caregivers in enhancing their role as primary nurturers and preparing children for Pre-K.
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Social Work, Psychology, Child Development, or some college with work experience, including twelve (12) post-secondary semester units or equivalent quarter units in early childhood education or child development
- Experience working with children from 0-5 years old
- Bilingual in Spanish/ English
- Strong computer skills and writing skills
- Valid driver's license
- Acceptable driving record
- Reliable vehicle
- Car insurance
- No history of abuse/neglect
- TB clearance
- Physical assessment by a physician
- Immunization records (including MMR, Hep B, Varicella, TDAP, Covid-19)
- Listed under car insurance as a driver
- Clean driving record (as defined by our insurance carrier)
- Must complete a background check
