Job Summary
The Child Development Coordinator monitors the Child Development, Disabilities, Nutrition, and Wellness program by overseeing classroom operations and teacher performance, conducting assessments, and ensuring compliance with Head Start performance standards. Responsibilities include training and supervising staff, recruiting volunteers, coordinating health and safety trainings, managing documentation, and providing guidance in child development and mental wellness services. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, two years of classroom experience with supervisory duties, and strong communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development /or related field.
- Must have at least 2 years of classroom experience and/or combination of 1-year classroom and 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Have reliable transportation and possess a valid driver’s license and have adequate insurance.
- Be 21 years of age.
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish oral and written preferred.
- Possess presentation/training experience and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
Additional Requirements
- Employment contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check prior to employment.
- Must complete a physical exam and TB screening test showing absence of Tuberculosis within 30 days of employment or sooner if required by local/state regulation.
- Must have annual continuing education hours to meet State and Federal requirements.
- Must register with State Childcare Registry (WI, MO, or AR) within 30 days of employment.
